Hookah pipes gaining popularity

Hookah pipes are gaining popularity in some parts of Canada and that has health officials worried.

Hookahs are used to smoke flavoured tobacco through a hose, and are traditional in Indian and Middle Eastern cultures.

Experts say they can lead to communicable diseases and exposure to second-hand smoke.

A survey back in 2007 found that 10% of Canadian teens had tried smoking a hookah pipe.
