Honda Canada issues hacking warning

Honda Canada is in damage control mode, after hundreds of thousands of customers had personal information stolen.

In an alert posted on its website, Honda says details such as customer names, addresses, vehicle identification numbers and some Honda financial services account numbers were stolen. However Honda officials say the information doesn’t include credit card numbers. Adam Atkinson has the details.

Honda says it does not share its customer information with unauthorized third parties and does not contact customers asking for financial information. Anyone with questions about the incident is asked to call Honda’s privacy line: 1-800-839-2826.
