Great ways to enjoy & rediscover South Western Ontario

Tim Bolen took a road trip to rediscover Western Ontario.
His first stop took him to Kingsville, Ontario to Pelee Island Winery. The 700+ acre farm has been around since 1854. The Western part of Ontario is amazing for grape growing because of the climate and soil conditions. Pelee Island Winery is known for their Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio when it comes to white wine, and their Pinot Noir in terms of red.
Next up, he was hungry and has never tried Windsor style pizza. And what makes Windsor style pizza so good? “The water that’s in the dough” according to Professor Za at Armando’s.
Armando’s in Amherstburg has won Best Pizza in Canada and third best in the world thank to their dough, sauce and cheese. When you head to Windsor it is a must try!
Still thirsty? Tim experienced how whisky is made at J.P. Wiser’s Experience Centre in Windsor. It is one of the largest distilleries in North America with 39 tanks that are 190,000 litres that ferments corn, rye, wheat, barley all from Essex County and Kent Region. Ever wanted to make your own whisky? You can pick up and kit right from J.P. Wisers and mix your own at home.
And for the final stop on the tour, Tim needed a place to rest, so he went to Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino. With casinos open again you can have a fun and happy time, take in a show, and then go to sleep in one of the 758 rooms available in the newly renovated towers.
