Give back this holiday season through World Vision gift catalogue

Just days after Giving Tuesday, a humanitarian aid organization is making a way for people to continue giving back this holiday season.
World Vision Canada has launched their gift catalogue, which provides the chance to give a gift that will make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.
“One of the ways that Canadians can help give back and join in this pandemic recovery effort in the front-line and the Global South in the toughest most vulnerable places is through the gift catalogue,” said Cherie Wai, who is the engagement and youth officer at World Vision Canada.
The gift catalogue includes over 90 gifts such as animals, medicines and school supplies, among others.
There are also two featured gifts: COVID-19 Support and School Essentials. The COVID-19 Support provides protective equipment, masks, hand sanitizer and hand washing stations to vulnerable communities around the world. While the School Essentials gift supplies backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens and more to help children succeed in their education.
The World Vision gift catalogue provides the option of donating money as well.
Wai said one of the most popular gifts is a goat because they multiply in number and value.
“Goats can give birth to other little goats. Goats produce really good milk that is nutritious to families. You can make cheese out of it and that can also become income where families can then invest back into things like school supplies for children. Goat’s dung also becomes a really good fertilizer for crops,” she said.
World Vision Canada is a Christian charity that helps more than four million children in nearly 100 countries.
