Food allergies
Caregivers may need extra guidance when it comes to children with food allergies.
Those with severe allergies are still prone to accidentally ingest those foods about once a year.
Caregivers, other than parents, were most often responsible for giving them food to which they were allergic.
In severe reactions, two-thirds failed to receive an epinephrine shot because the caregivers were too afraid to administer it, or failed to recognize the allergic reaction as serious.
