Feeling the need for speed at Niagara Speed Skating Club

Tim Bolen felt the need for speed while on the ice with members of the Niagara Speed Skating Club.

The club started in St. Catharines in 2003 and has 25 members, but are always looking for new members, and teaches short-track speed skating. The sport is good for kids because it’s non-contact, not too competitive and they can go fast, while making new friends.

On the ice today they taught Tim what he needs to know as a speed skating beginner, such as ankle exercises and the nose, knees, toes mentality for aerodynamics.
