Exploring hidden gem wines on the Italian coast

Super Wine Girl Angela Aiello joined us this morning with some wines out of Regiono on the Italian Coast.
Verddiccio is a popular grape variety in the central Italian region of Marche. Le Marche is known for its beautiful coastlines, which attracts thousands of tourists a year to the white sandy beaches, towering cliffs and clear blue waters.
VERDICCHIO
This is Italy’s most versatile native grapes. The name Verdicchio derives from verde, or “green” and refers to the slight green and yellow hue that wines made from the grape can have.
The grape has been grown for the last six centuries and produces dry, refreshing white wines with citrus and almond notes.
The crisp, clean flavour profile makes it the perfect apertif wine, excellent for warm-weather sipping on the patio. At the same time, the mouthwatering acidity and clean citrus flavours make it a great wine to pair with a variety of foods.
