HAPPENING NOW:
Explore hidden gems of Ontario

Tim Bolen explored some hidden gems you might not know about in Caledon and Orangeville with Destination Ontario.
Alabaster Acres in Caledon is a great place to get away and learn about life on the farm. They also offer glamping all year long and have a great event space.
On the farm you can meet alpacas and pigmy goats, as well as play and feed them.
After checking out Alabaster Farms, Tim then went just outside of Orangeville to Island Lake Conservation Area, which is know for fishing and boating.
Today Tim learned how to ice fish on Island Lake. From how thick the ice has to be, to drilling the hole, he learned it all. If you want to ice fish but haven’t tried it before you can rent all the equipment needed from them and get hooked. And if you already love it, you can compete in the Ice Fishing Derby which is on until February 21st.
If ice fishing isn’t your thing you can also rent a fat tire bikes and ride through the snow on the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail at Island Lake or on the lake.
Whether you want to relax or try something new, get out and explore all that Ontario has to offer this winter.
