Research in Motion is offering its smartphone subscribers up to one-hundred dollars worth of apps for free over the coming weeks.

The Waterloo-based BlackBerry maker says it wants to show its appreciation for customers’ patience during last week’s disruptions in its emailing, texting and browsing services. But as Melissa Raftis tells us, not everyone finds the deal appealing.
