Research in Motion remains confident in its playbook tablet, despite disappointing sales.

An executive for RIM says the Blackberry maker could have been clearer about defining its target market for the devices, but says that it’s now focusing on selling the tablets to existing Blackberry users.

Lacklustre sales of the Playbook have contributed to RIM’s slumping share price, which has lost about two-thirds of its value since February.
