Digital pill aids in diagnosis

Doctors in the U.S. have a new way to check on their patients.

A digital pill, about the size of a grain of sand, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

It can monitor whether patients are taking their medications appropriately.

The sensor is also designed to give doctors feedback on patients’ heart rate and activity levels.
