Deal for Electro Motive
The union representing workers at Electro-Motive in London has reached a deal with the company on severance and other financial issues.
Earlier this year, the company was demanding a 50% wage cut; locked out workers wouldn’t agree and then recently the company announced it’s closing the plant altogether.
The Canadian Auto Workers union still has to vote on the plant closure settlement.
That’s expected to happen Thursday.
That’s when the union also plants to go over the specific details of the agreement.
The union local has 450 members and it says more information will be released after the deal is ratified.
