A blanket of stifling heat called a “heat dome” has settled over large areas of the country and a weather warning is in effect for most of Ontario.
The temperatures are not just uncomfortable, it can also be very dangerous.
Hamilton is currently in a stage three heat alert.
To help people beat the heat city buildings will be open late for those who need to get in the air conditioning, and pools will stay open later for anyone who wants to go for a dip.

How can you beat the heat?

  • – Drink plenty of water
  • – Go to an air conditioned place
  • – Wear light, loose fitting closing
  • – Limit outdoor activities
  • – Never leave children or pets alone in the car
