Canadians fighting to close down the country’s asbestos business are taking a new approach.
250 health professionals are demanding a Conservative party MP honour her medical oath and work against the industry.
They’ve sent an open letter to Simcoe-Grey MP Kellie Leitch who’s a pediatric orthopedic surgeon.
They say she has a duty to influence her Conservative colleagues to end the business they say will spread deadly disease in poorer countries.
The Tories have long maintained Canada’s asbestos is safe when handled properly.
