Controlling over-eating

A team of scientists from Yale has discovered a set of neurons in the “reward centre” of the brain that appear to control hunger and over-eating.

Those neurons are also linked to drug addiction.

Researchers found increased appetite can actually be associated with decreased interest in cocaine use.

On the other hand, less interest in food appeared to predict increased interest in cocaine.
