HAPPENING NOW:

Class action considered over RIM interruption

The three day outage for BlackBerry users earlier this month has led to a lawyer trying to arrange a class action lawsuit, so users can be compensated for the inconvenience.

The suit claims that RIM failed to directly compensate BlackBerry users who pay monthly data fees to carriers. The consumer law group also claims that RIM failed to arrange for service providers like Rogers, Bell and Telus to provide refunds.

BlackBerry did however compensate its users with $100 worth of free premium apps instead.
