Charities’ need grows during holidays

Charities across the country are gearing up for their busiest time of year – but just how great is the need?

When you take a look at Hamilton alone the numbers are staggering.

Hamilton Food Share says more than 18,000 people use food banks each month in the city – more than 7600 of them, children.

But during the holiday season those numbers skyrocket, and those who use community services say they don’t know what they would do without them. Melissa Raftis explains.
