Celebrex and lung cancer
The pain reliever Celebrex may be able to prevent lung cancer from developing in former smokers.
Researchers looked at more than one hundred former smokers in their study.
Half took Celebrex twice a day while the other half took a placebo.
The group taking Celebrex had fewer markers of cancerous cell growth in their lungs and fewer lung nodules, which are precursors to cancer.
Experts say bigger studies are still needed.
