Cancer drug warning

A warning about a drug used to treat advanced breast and colorectal cancers.
Health Canada says Xeloda, has been linked to potentially fatal skin reactions in some patients. The drug, manufactured by Hoffmann-LaRoche, can cause severe reactions. Symptoms can mimic a flu with fever, progressing to itchy skin. A red or purple rash that spreads and blisters, causing the skin to shed. It can also trigger mouth sores and burning eyes. Patients with unusual symptoms should contact their doctor immediately.
