The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is celebrating 50 years.

Steve Ruddick visited this morning to get the history behind the museum and see how they are celebrating the special anniversary.

A question a lot of people are asking is where is the Lancaster? As it turns one of the engines needs to be rebuilt so the Lancaster is not flying right now.

While you may not see the Lancaster flying, at the CWHM you will be able to see are comic books that were made during WWII. Dr. Ivan Kocmarek has a display of his collection on display until November.

Steve also met Bill McBride, who is the longest serving volunteer. The museum is run by volunteers and there are over 10,000 of them giving tours, working in the gift shop and teaching people about the planes.

There is plenty going on to celebrate 50 years and Steve just touched on a little bit when he was there, but there is so much more for you to see in person, including propaganda posters.
