Some new forms of birth control might up your risk for blood clots.

These findings are from a new study by the Food and Drug Administration.

It looked at the medical histories of over 800,000 American women who were on birth control between January 2001 and December 2007.

The results; women who used newer oral contraceptives were at a higher risk of developing potentially dangerous blood clots.

Bayer’s Yasmin, Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho Evra patch and Merck’s Nuvaring were among those with the highest instances of blood clots.
