Baby’s brains in tune

A study out of London shows babies are surprisingly in tune to adult voices and emotions.

Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans on sleeping babies, researchers say they had more activity in the part of the brain known for processing human voices when they heard human sounds like coughing, sneezing or yawning.

This didn’t happen when the babies heard other sounds, like toys or water.

The findings might be used to identify babies who may be at risk for developing autism.
