Baby weight and autism
Accelerated brain growth in baby boys might signal a risk for a certain type of autism.
Scientists compared MRI’s of 180 children around three years old.
They found boys who had regressive autism, where they lost language and social skills, had larger brain volumes.
When they measured their head circumference they found their brain growth had changed from normal levels at around four to six months of age.
