As we head into a beautiful summer weekend, a reminder from the experts in public health.

Check for water quality warnings before you head to the beach. Dodging unsafe swimming signs could put you at risk.

Halton, Niagara and Hamilton all have beach postings on their websites.
But as of last year, Haldimand county stopped water testing along Lake Erie beaches.
There were a number of reasons for cancelling the practice, but officials say the key concern is the delay between taking the sample, and getting the results.
With a minimum 48-hour window, authorities thought the postings were misleading.
Their website lists general things to consider before entering the open water.
