Older fathers are more likely to have children with autism.

Research shows that for each decade a man ages his chance of fathering a child with autism goes up 22%.

A genetic study out of Iceland shows that as men age their sperm cells undergo genetic mutations which are passed on.

A 20 year old man passes on an average of 25 mutations while a 40 year old passes on 65, and the number keeps going up as the man gets older.
