August manufacturing numbers

Manufacturing sales rose in August to it’s highest level since October 2008.

Statistics Canada reports the gains were concentrated in the transportation equipment, food, and petroleum and coal product industries.

Higher sales were reported in 11 of 21 industries, representing 70% of total manufacturing.

Quebec, Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador led the provincial increases.
