Air Canada to lay off thousands of flight attendants

Air Canada is moving to lay-off more than 5,000 unionized flight attendants.
Like many airlines, Air Canada’s bottom line is taking a hit with COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The airline’s stock has plummeted 76 per cent in two months, dropping steeply in the past two weeks.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says the layoffs will start in April.
About 60 per cent of the flight attendants at Air Canada and Air
Canada Rouge will be affected.
The union says it will assist laid-off members with their next steps and work to bring them back once conditions in the industry stabilize.
