Aging health care
A new report warns Canada’s health-care system will have to make changes to meet the future needs of seniors.
The Canadian Institute for Health information shows people 65 and over use the system most often, costing more than any other demographic.
Seniors represent 14% of the population, yet account for 40% of hospital services.
Twenty-five years down the road, seniors are expected to make up a quarter of the population, and claim an even bigger slice of the health services pie.
