HAPPENING NOW:

ADHD link

Researchers may have uncovered both a biological and environmental link to attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.

A study of more than 200 young children reveals both low socio-economic status and having a mother who had gestational diabetes during pregnancy had 14 times the normal risk for developing ADHD.

Those children also had lower IQ and language abilities and poor behavioral and emotional functions.

Either factor on its own didn’t appear to be linked to any increased likelihood of an ADHD diagnosis.
