Active classroom

Students at Milton District High School are learning in an active classroom. The active classroom has standing desks, exercise ball chairs, treadmills and desk cycles. Phys-Ed Teacher Marty MacIntyre developed the space after he noticed students were getting sluggish halfway through their 76 minute periods. It’s now being used to teach everything from French to chemistry. Students work in group settings and rotate through activity stations. Mr. MacIntyre says he’s noticed improvement in his students’ attention and participation and hopes more students start standing up for their education.
