A tour of Caledonia’s MontHill Golf and Country Club

Shelly Marriage takes a tour of MontHill Golf and Country Club on Highway 6 in Caledonia.

With 27 holes over three different nine hole courses, this public golf course offers the opportunity to mix and match play each time you visit. And if you are just learning to golf they also offer lessons.

Starting next year MontHill will offer the First Tee Program, which is really exciting for Six Nations and New Credit and the communities Haldimand County. This program will give kids the opportunity to learn golf and life skills through the game.

Besides golfing, there is also different options for dining. The Four Seasons Pub is a clubhouse with food, drinks, big screen TV’s and 3 golf zone simulators so you can practice your game, or get in your golf fix over the winter. Then there is a fine dining option at Big Pete’s Steakhouse, where you can dine on different cuts of steak, seafood, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Big Pete’s is open for lunch 7 days a weeks, dinner from Tuesday-Saturday and brunch every Sunday. Reservations are recommended and can be made online.

MontHill also does weddings and events in their four ballrooms. Whether you are getting married, have a baptism or a special event, they can cater to you. The biggest space holds 500 people and they are a one wedding a day venue, so they can focus all their attention on your special day and ensure everything runs smoothly.
