HAPPENING NOW:
A look at a collector’s extensive Black and biracial hockey card collection

Canadians are buying and valuing BIPOC-related hockey cards more than ever.
Dean Barnes has been a hockey card collector since childhood. He has spent two years collecting over 100 trading cards of Black and biracial players who appeared in at least one NHL game to raise awareness and celebrate the minority players.
He joined us this morning with his collection, and to talk about his podcast ‘My Hockey Hero’, where he interviews some of the players to learn more about their accomplishments.
Some of the cards from Barnes’ collection is now on tour with NHL’s United by Hockey Mobile Museum, visiting 32 markets across North America.
