A lasagna that’s recipe has been past down 7 generations is now widely sold as Mama Yolanda’s Gourmet Lasagna

Tim Bolen was at Mercanti Specialty Foods Group this morning to learn the recipe for Mama Yolanda’s lasagna.
The story goes back to 2010 when the Mercanti’s wanted to pay tribute to the lasagna they had been serving since 1978. The lasagna was served at countless events at Carmen’s and since it was so popular they, they decided they wanted to make it widely available to everyone, and so they got it to market.
Mama Yolanda is Yolanda Mercanti who brought the recipe over when she immigrated from Italy in the 1950’s. The recipe dates back 7 generations from Abruzzo, Italy.
Tim learned got to make the lasagna and they try a piece that was cooked on the BBQ, because yes, you can cook lasagna on a BBQ.
