With beach weather comes beach reads! Bestselling author Chantel Guertin joined us with her picks.

This is Carly Fortune’s debut novel.  It is set in Barry’s Bay and unapologetically Canadian.  It’s a story set in two timelines and goes back to when the main character was a teen and meets the boy next door.  Something happens, and then flash forward to when they are in the 30’s and are reunited.  Guertin loves it because it keep that train of what happened going as the book jumps back and forth in the timeline.

This book is a fun rom-com set in Utah.  The main character’s father is a treasure hunter and she is off to explore the area.   Guertin loves this book because it ties together themes of family history, romance and reuniting all together in an adventure.

This book is for any book lover.  It follows the relationship of a literary agent and an editor.  It is a haters to lovers trope, as these two find themselves together in North Carolina for the month of August.

This book is a creative, totally untrue retelling of the meeting of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.  If you love celebrity-political romances you will love this book.

This book is part of a trilogy set in Cape Cod, but Chantel says you don’t have to read the other two books to enjoy this one.  It’s the story of a woman who’s husband has died and she is lonely, as her whole family was with her during the pandemic, but are now gone.  Now her step-granddaughter is getting married and during that get together a bunch of family secrets are unraveled.
