Ministry of Labour investigates after 4 injured in Burlington construction site

The Ministry of Labour are investigating after four workers were injured at a construction site in Burlington.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. at a building on New Street on Tuesday.

There are reports that the workers were removing asbestos when the ceiling collapsed, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

A witness tells CHCH News, firefighters rescued three trapped workers from inside the building.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour says an inspector and structural engineer have been assigned to the case.

The ministry says as the investigation is ongoing, they are not able to share further information at this time.
