Milton man’s murder charge dropped in home intruder shooting

The second-degree murder charge filed against a Milton man, who allegedly shot an armed intruder inside his home last winter, has been dropped.
Ali Mian’s lawyer office confirmed that the crown withdrew the charge against the 22 year old today.
Halton police were called to a home on Gibson Crescent around 5 a.m. on Feb. 19 for a report of gunshots.

At the time Halton police said a group of suspects intended on robbing the house. Mian confronted the suspects and gunshots were fired within the home.
Mian was arrested and charged for allegedly shooting and killing an intruder inside his Gibson Crescent home.
Mian’s lawyer, Jag Virk, argued that his client acted in self-defense and should not face murder charges.
