Man wanted in connection with murder outside Hamilton shelter

Hamilton police are searching for a 23-year-old man in connection with the city’s latest homicide.
Police say Jheidohn Shakeed Serieaux, of no fixed address, is considered armed and residents should not approach him.
Serieaux is wanted for the first-degree murder of 31-year-old Christopher Sim.
Sim was found suffering from stab wounds in the parking lot of Mission Services on James St. North around 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
Police say citizens came to the man’s aid before first responders arrived on scene and attempted life-saving efforts.
He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died a short time after arriving at Hamilton General Hospital.
Police say there was some kind of altercation in the parking lot that led to the stabbing.
In a news conference late Sunday, detectives said Sim was “completely ambushed” and unable to defend himself.
Police say Sim’s family has requested privacy at this time while they grieve the loss of their father, son, and brother.
“Christopher will be remembered for the love he had for his family and his passion for hockey,” said police in a news release.
The Hamilton Police Service Major Crime Unit has taken the lead in the investigation.
Police say Serieaux is wanted on “reasonable and probable grounds” in the stabbing death.
He is described as roughly five-foot-nine, 160 lbs, and was wearing a dark hoodie and black pants.
Police are asking anyone who sees Serieaux to call 911.
Anyone with additional information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Det. David Brewster at 905-546-4067.
