Bystander injured in daytime shooting: Hamilton police

Hamilton police say an innocent bystander was struck by a stray bullet in a downtown shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple witnesses reported hearing gunshots around 11:15 a.m. in an alleyway at King Street East and East Avenue North.

Police say the injured bystander was a man in his 50s. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but has since been released.

There is no description of the shooter, but police say a grey coloured sedan, similar to a BMW, was seen fleeing the area.
