Man from Thorold arrested on child pornography charges

First Published:

Niagara regional police arrested a man from the City of Thorold Wednesday and have charged him with child pornography offences.

Officers began an investigation in September 2022 into the sexual exploitation of local children.

As a result of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the City of Thorold on Wednesday.

The department says evidence obtained from the examination of digital devices seized from the home during the warrant, led to the arrest of 60-year-old Rheal Marcel Foisy later that same Wednesday.

Foisy has been charged with two counts of child pornography and a count of accessing and making child pornography.

Foisy has been held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled to take place at a St. Catharines courthouse Friday.

Anyone with information regarding the creation, development or distribution of child pornography is asked to contact police.
