In a release on Thursday, Fire Chief Dave Cunliffe says this is the city’s third fatal fire so far this year.

Cunliffe says no additional information is available and the Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating this incident.

Fires have broken out in this apartment building before. Flames burned through two apartments and damaged others in 2017, and one man died in a fire in the building in 2020.
