Low-cost airline to start offering cheap flights from Hamilton to Croatia

First Published:

A low-cost air service from Iceland will be adding cheap flights between Croatia and Hamilton to its network this spring.

PLAY Airlines says it has launched ticket sales for trips to Split, Croatia — and the first one will be departing John C. Munroe International Airport on May 28.

The plan is to operate once a week, departing every Tuesday throughout the summer.

One-way tickets will start at $359.

The airline operates out of Keflavik Airport in Iceland, which it says acts as a central hub for travel between America and Europe.

Customers flying on the airline have the option to extend their layover in the Nordic country at no additional cost, giving travellers the chance to turn the leg into a multi-day stopover.

“Adding Croatia via Iceland is exciting news as it will allow visitors to explore both bucket list destinations while starting their journey with convenience and ease from Hamilton,” said Cole Horncastle, Executive Managing Director at the John C. Munroe.

The announcement marks the second European destination added to the company’s portfolio since August, when it incorporated flights to Frankfurt, Germany from Hamilton.
