Longtime Hamilton NDP MPP Dies

Former Hamilton East MPP Bob MacKenzie has died. He was 82.

MacKenzie was first elected in 1977 and retired for the 1995 provincial election.
He served as labour minister during Bob Rae’s NDP government.
MacKenzie is also well-known for bringing in Bill 40, legislation to ban replacement workers during strikes. It was later eliminated by the Mike Harris government.
