Late Canadian conductor, composer Boris Brott honoured at FirstOntario Concert Hall

Boris Brott’s name will soon be added to the FirstOntario Concert Hall as a way to honour him and his contributions to the music venue.
Conductor Alain Trudel is preparing to step into his friend’s usual role at the Boris Brott Music Festival. “His soul is here, his ideas are here, and the strong will,” Trudel said.
Tonight the famed, late composer will be honoured. Trudel is serving as the interim artistic director of the 35th edition of the festival. The 10-concert orchestra series will feature a wide range of classical, jazz, pop and Broadway musicals all played by young musicians at the National Academy Orchestra of Canada.
It’s unclear when exactly the renaming will happen but festival organizers say mayor Fred Eisenberger will officially announce the renaming at the event tonight.
