Last-minute holiday shoppers set out to find the perfect gift

With Christmas just a few hours away, many shoppers braved through crowds to find the perfect last-minute gift on Sunday.

While there were a few lines forming and some sales going, the crowds at Hamilton’s Limeridge Mall remained manageable.

Some shopping the day before Christmas say it’s all about the experience.

“That’s the fun of Christmas, the last minute shopping.” says one shopper.

“You have the music, you have the smells. There’s a lot of comradery here.” said another.

While for some picking up those last minute gifts could be strategic, others say they just ran out of time.

Most malls closed at 5 p.m., though many Shoppers Drug Marts across Hamilton, Halton and Niagara will remain open late Sunday night and a few are even set to open on Christmas day.
