Kinsmen Club of Stoney Creek recovers stolen pink trailer

First Published:

A service club in Stoney Creek has finally recovered their stolen pink trailer, which was found at a towing compound in Ohsweken.

Kinsmen Club Director Gary De Roche says that even though he’s excited to have his 30-foot pink trailer back, over $10,000 worth of equipment is still missing.

“We put our hearts and sweat into this we built it so it’s completely custom,” said De Roche.

The “hard to miss” trailer was custom-built 20 years ago and is a yearly staple for the Winona Peach Festival.

“We’ve seen a small SUV hauling our trailer the bumper was almost dragging on the ground I doubt they didn’t get too far with it but we found it at Ohsweken.”

De Roche says an anonymous tip led the Kinsmen Club to where it’s located.

De Roche got the keys to the trailer on Saturday but noticed it was ransacked.

“We’re missing three candy floss machines, the two snow cones machines we’re going to look deeper on Tuesday but it looks like our fire extinguisher is missing also.”

De Roche says more than $10,000 worth of equipment is missing and he’s asking the public for help again—this time to keep an eye out on any online marketplaces.

The Kinsmen Club donates around $25,000 every year to local organizations to help people in need and this incident is cutting into their resources.

“They’re stealing from the public that needs our help, you know, it cramps our style because now we have to spend that money on equipment that we already owned but it’s missing now.”

De Roche says the pink trailer will attend the Winona Peach Festival this August.
