Johnny Peppers burns down

Firefighters are still at a restaurant in Niagara Falls destroyed overnight by fire.

Additional fire crews were called after 1:30 this morning to Johnny Peppers on Ferry Street where flames were visible on the roof as heavy smoke billowed from the building. Flames destroyed most of the roof — and the area is now covered in ice from all the water used to battle the blaze in double-digit below zero temperatures.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine the exact cause and the amount of damage to the stand-alone building.
