Inebriated driving cause of downed hydro pole in Hagersville

A careless driver’s inebriated actions knocked down a hydro pole in Haldimand County Tuesday evening.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. on Highway 3 in the area of East Concession 7 Walpole and Cheapside Road.

The driver registered an alert on a roadside alcohol test and had their license suspended for three days.

Roads reopened around 5 a.m. Wednesday after crews repaired the hydro pole.
