Illicit drug investigation in Niagara Falls results in 2 arrests

The Niagara Regional Police Service have arrested two people in connection with an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs throughout Niagara Falls.

On Monday detectives executed search warrants inside of a hotel room on Fallsview Boulevard, at a home on Drummond Rd. near Monroe St. and a 2018 Hyundai Tucson that was being operated by one of the suspects.

Through the executed search warrants, officers were able to recover over 230 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 46 grams of suspected cocaine, over 300 grams of cannabis, one smoke grenade classified as an explosive and one canister of pepper spray classified as a prohibited weapon.

The combined estimate of the value of the seized drugs is $20,500, along with nearly $42, 500 that is believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime.

As a result of the investigation, police have made two arrests.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jessica Ferreira-Parsons of Niagara Falls faces charges of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, unlawful possession of explosives and failure to comply with release order.

Marcus Roye, 29, of no fixed address faces three separate charges for possession with the purpose of trafficking cannabis, fentanyl and cocaine, in addition to charges of possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply with release order.

Both Roye and Ferreira-Parsons remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
