Hyundai and Kia are recalling upwards of 603,000 vehicles in Canada and millions more in the U.S. due to concerns over vehicle fires.

The recalls cover multiple car and SUV models from 2010 through 2019, including Hyundai’s Santa Fe SUV and Kia’s Sorrento SUV.

Documents shared by the U.S. safety regulators say that the anti-lock brake control module can leak fluid, causing an electrical short that could result in a fire while the vehicles are parked or being driven.

The automakers are advising that owners park outdoors and away from any structures until repairs are completed.
