Hold and secure lifted at Hill Park Learning Centre after ‘external online threat’

Hamilton police say a brief hold and secure at Hill Park Learning Centre has been lifted after an online threat was made towards the school.

Police spokesperson Jackie Penman says an undisclosed number of youths who attend a program at the school made the threat in a social media chat.

The school on East 16th Street then placed itself in a hold and secure around 11:30 a.m.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board says the hold and secure was lifted shortly before 12 p.m.

Police are now speaking with the group.
